Welcoming New Fellows

We would like to welcome the following individuals, who joined the Fellowship in 2025.

Professor Daniele De Martini, Tutorial Fellow in Engineering Science

Professor Daniele De Martini co-leads the Mobile Robotics Group, combining robotics and artificial intelligence in his research to design autonomous systems capable of perception, mapping, localisation and adaptive decision-making. Daniele’s research uses a range of sensing technologies to enable robots to operate reliably in challenging conditions. A particular emphasis of his work is examining robotics–infrastructure interaction: enabling dynamic sharing of sensing and computing resources between robots and smart environments to support safe and scalable autonomy.

Dr Michael Foran, Associate Professor of Law and Tutorial Fellow in Law

Dr Michael Foran brings expertise in equality and anti-discrimination law, with his work having been cited by the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. Michael’s research focuses on constitutional law and philosophy of law, with a particular emphasis on equality before the law, discrimination and the rule of law. He also works on anti-positivist jurisprudence, including questions relating to the relationship between fundamental rights and the rule of law. Michael’s second book Sex, Gender Identity and the Law will be published in 2026.

Dr Colin Donnelly, Tutorial Fellow in Theology

Dr Colin Donnelly returns to Keble, having read both BA and MPhil Theology here previously, before going on to complete a PhD at Durham University and holding academic posts at the Virginia Theological Seminary and the University of Limerick. Colin’s research explores the theology of the early English Reformation, with particular attention to the role of English and German universities in shaping religious change during the early modern period. He is also in the early stages of a new project examining radical and non-mainstream understandings of the soul and the afterlife between 1500 and 1700, and how these ideas helped to shape emerging religious, philosophical and political thought, impacting our world today.

Dr Ryan Walker, Research Fellow and Tutor in Engineering Science

Dr Ryan Walker joined Keble in January to teach in mechanics, materials and dynamics and lead the Oxford University Formula Student team. His research interests centre on next-generation automotive systems and the condition monitoring of rotating machinery, bringing real-world engineering challenges into the academic environment. Before joining Oxford, Ryan worked within Formula racing across the different categories and spent nine years with the Mercedes AMG Formula 1 team, winning a record eight consecutive world constructors’ championships, as well as consulting on a variety of other vehicle-related engineering projects.

Lord Richard Harrington, Honorary Fellow

Lord Richard Harrington joins our Honorary Fellowship, having read Jurisprudence at Keble between 1976 and 1979. A lifelong member of the Conservative Party, Richard was elected Conservative MP for Watford in 2010, a position he held for a decade. In 2022, he was appointed Minister of State in the Home Office and co-ordinated the UK’s response to the humanitarian crisis caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Richard currently serves as a consultant, adviser, and Chair for many UK development and legal firms, as well as supporting several children’s and homelessness charities.
