September Reunion for the 1970s Cohort
This past September, we had the pleasure of hosting those who matriculated in the years 1970–1979 in College for their reunion weekend. Commencing on the Friday, the Keble reunion coincided with the university-wide Meeting Minds event, giving alumni the opportunity to attend a wide range of events.
In College, we featured a lecture from Professor Paul Newman on the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in an ever-changing world. Both insightful and thought-provoking, this talk sparked conversation surrounding the use of AI in vehicles and led to some interesting discussions throughout the rest of the day.
With a 1970s display from the Keble Archives, tours of the H B Allen Centre, and Evensong in Chapel, there was something for everyone. Many seized the opportunity to stay in College and return to Oxford for a full weekend. Reuniting with friends, reconnecting with contemporaries, and having the chance to show the College to loved ones made the weekend one that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
In addition to the 1970s decade reunion, we also had the opportunity to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of those who matriculated in 1974. The 1974 cohort attended a special lunch in the SCR, joined by the Warden. It is a pleasure to celebrate this landmark for Keble alumni, and we are awed and grateful that so many are connecting with their College, and sharing news, successes and stories beyond Keble.
Culminating on Saturday evening with a black-tie Gaudy, alumni and guests dined in Hall on a delectable three-course menu, which, many commented, was a significant upgrade to how they remember Keble dinners!
With the weekend bringing such a warm and friendly atmosphere, we can’t wait to host the 1980–1989 years in September 2025, and the 50th anniversary celebration for the 1975s. We encourage Keble alumni and guests to come along and we look forward to seeing many of you there. Bookings will be opening in the Summer. Information for upcoming events can be found here.
