Antony Phillipson recognised in King’s Birthday Honours

Congratulations to Antony Phillipson (1989 Modern History), who has been appointed Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG)  for services to British foreign policy, and international trade and investment in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours list.

Lionel Tarassenko appointed to the House of Lords

Keble Honorary Fellow and alumnus Professor Lionel Tarassenko (1975 Engineering Science) has been made a non-party-political peer by the House of Lords Appointments Commission. Lionel is the founding President of the new Reuben College and is a Research Professor in the Department of Engineering Science.

Frank Cottrell-Boyce Children's Laureate

Frank Cottrell-Boyce (1979 English, Honorary Fellow) is the new Waterstones Children's Laureate, championing reading and children's books as part of the role over the next two years. He is in fact the second Keblite to hold this post — Cressida Cowell (1985 English Language and Literature, Honorary Fellow) was the Children’s Laureate between 2019 and 2022. Go Keble!

After featuring in the Hilary Term brick, alumna Helen (née Bassas) Ujvary (1997 Engineering) and current student Cory Lines (2023 E&M) were honoured with a message of recognition and thanks from the Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas.
