Academy Appointment

Our congratulations to Keble Professorial Fellow Gui-Qiang Chen, who is among the first cohort of fellows appointed to the newly-established Academy for the Mathematical Sciences. Professor Chen is a Statutory Professor of Analysis of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) at the Mathematical Institute, with his main research areas lying in PDEs, nonlinear analysis, and their connections and applications to mechanics, geometry and other areas of mathematics and science. He is Director of the Oxford Centre for Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (OxPDE). As one of the 100 inaugural fellows, Professor Chen joins a group recognised for exceptional contributions to mathematical science and its real-world impact.

Nabila Walji Photo Competition

The Nabila Walji Photography Competition is a regular photography competition at Keble, inviting students and staff to submit photos in memory of former Visual, Material and Museum Anthropology MSc student, Nabila, who loved capturing the world through her camera lens. Returning in Michaelmas, the competition brought a new theme of ‘Unravelling Silent Stories Through Street Photography’. Our congratulations to Richard Kuehl (2023 Modern Languages) on winning last term’s prize, his submission selected by the Walji family for “the serenity of the beautiful bridge and the play of colours in the water and sky which makes it mesmerizing”. Thank you to everyone who submitted entries for this term’s competition.
