Keble Runs the Town and Gown, Again!

Caption

The runners’ spaces in the Bidwell’s Town and Gown 10K sold out for the third year in a row. Inspired by a local boy, Daniel Cleaver, who had Muscular Dystrophy, the Town and Gown has been taking place since 1982, and 2026 saw over 7,500 people sign up to participate, raising over £350k for the charity.

After last year’s successful entry, more than fifty members of the Keble community laced up their running shoes and took to the streets of Oxford for the 2026 event. The team was full of Keble spirit, light competitiveness and reports of sore legs the next morning.

Participants joined from every part of College, students, staff, fellows and alumni, including the Director of Development, Jenny Tudge, Head of Catering, Freddy Hussain, Senior Tutor, Ali Rogers, and many more. With Team Keble running shirts, every runner represented the College with enthusiasm and style.

Post-10K, the group gathered in Hall for a bit of rest and recuperation and a well-earned cooked brunch.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite all alumni to join Team Keble next year — the competition is well and truly on for Keble to have the biggest College team in 2027! We are even exploring the idea of having a member of College run dressed as our unofficial mascot, the Keble dinosaur. Watch this space.

If you would like to participate in May 2027, please get in touch with the Alumni & Development Office
