The Telethon callers
We are delighted to share that this year’s telephone fundraising campaign has raised over £96,000, thanks to the incredible generosity of our alumni and supporters. Over the course of three weeks, our team of thirteen student callers reached out to hundreds of alumni, engaging in warm and inspiring conversations that not only raised vital funds, but also built lasting connections across generations.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who took the time to speak with our student callers. Your kindness, encouragement, and thoughtful advice were met with genuine appreciation by the students, many of whom were struck by the shared experiences and reflections on College life. These conversations offered more than just financial support; they provided students with insight, reassurance, and a sense of belonging to a much larger college community.
For many alumni, these calls were an opportunity to reminisce about their own time at Keble and offer guidance to current students navigating similar challenges. Our student callers commented on how much they valued hearing stories from years gone by, and how inspired they felt by the generosity of spirit shown throughout the campaign.
Telephone fundraising continues to play a vital role in supporting Keble. Founded on the basis of subscription, the College has always relied on the commitment and support of its community to thrive. That tradition continues today, and we are proud to recognise that commitment through The Talbot Society, which celebrates those who give regularly to the College.
As a way of expressing our gratitude, we are excited to announce a new event for members of The Talbot Society. This gathering will be an opportunity to thank supporters in person, share the impact of their contributions, and celebrate the vibrant community that sustains our College. Details of the event to come later this year.
