All-Innovate Keble Winners
Four Keble students have been awarded funding in the annual All-Innovate competition, set up to encourage its participants to generate business ideas and develop key entrepreneurial skills. The 2025 winners are Edward Shellard (2021 DPhil Inorganic Chemistry) for his start-up HaPin, Yuzhao Liu (2024 DPhil Engineering Science) for her group start-up Hualuo Printing and Dyeing, Daniel Mwendwa (2021 MSc Energy Systems) for his start-up Maarifa, and Xisen Wang (2022 MEng Engineering Science) for his group start-up TalentIs.
E&M Prize
Simone Darley (2023 Economics and Management) has won second place at the Oxford-Intesa Sanpaolo Prize for Economics and Management. Tasked with writing an opinion editorial arguing for or against the notion that global companies should prioritise local cultures and norms when considering their global corporate cultures, Simone was awarded a £500 cash prize for her submission and an internship at Intesa Sanpaolo’s London office.
Mathematics Award
Postgraduate mathematics student Tanya Borah (2024 MSc Mathematical Sciences) has been awarded runner up in this year’s Smith Institute TakeAIM competition which highlights the role mathematics and data science play in solving real-world problems. Titled ‘Advancements in Deep Learning Techniques: A Custom Hybrid Optimizer with Versatile Applications’, Tanya’s project centres around a hybrid optimizer that can self-learn and navigate high-dimensional, nonlinear data, making it especially useful in fields like climate science and health care.
Football Cuppers
Following a spectacular year for Keble Football, the women’s team have once again come out victorious in Cuppers, with Hertable (Hertford & Keble) defeating Wertonfield (Wadham, Merton & Mansfield) 4-2. The Keble men’s firsts also claimed their place in the Cuppers final, facing St Catz in a tense game, but ultimately lost a shoot-out 4-2.
