Keble Ball Returns
Jade Morris (2022 Human Sciences), Keble Ball President, writes:
After a five-year hiatus, the 2024 Keble Ball was happy to welcome 1,400 guests to the College on 11 May, inviting everyone to spend an evening of decadence and whimsy in the Wonderful Land of Oz!
Guests spent the evening strolling through Kansas, smelling the poppies, skipping down the ‘Red’ Brick Road, and dancing in the Emerald City. Music on the main stage in Pusey included, but wasn’t limited to, a brass band, an ABBA tribute act, and, featuring Keble musicians, the Carnations. On the second stage in the College Bar, acoustic acts and DJ Dipper brought great energy. Plus, vintage arcade games, dodgems, tarot card reading, a shisha tent and a photo booth kept our guests entertained off the dance floor!
Throughout the night, a constant stream of Dorothy’s favourite American burgers and Tibetan curries and momos were served. This was on top of three types of noodle dishes, and pork carnitas and grilled halloumi burritos. For dessert, guests could indulge in filled Nutella, vanilla and dulce de leche churros, Oz ice cream, and fruit crumbles with custard. Last but not least, drinks ranging from craft ciders and beers, soft drinks, alcoholic milkshakes and a range of cocktails were perfect to quench thirst on the hot Trinity night.
Overall, the Ball was a special night for the Keble community, offering unlimited food and drinks with fun activities and non-stop music! The committee would like to thank all the students, alumni and guests who attended the Ball and made this night what we all hoped it would be!
