WHT Scholars 2023/24

The highly competitive Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships have been running at Oxford since 2007. Keble College is proud to take five Scholars on the programme each year, with all the scholarships funded by alumni. The course includes, alongside the taught Masters programmes the students are on, a tailor-made Leadership Programme to jump-start the ambitions of young leaders, equipping them to return to their regions and countries of origin to shine a light of hope and make meaningful contributions to the fields of Sustainability, Business, Law, Education, Digital Technologies, Governance, Diplomacy and Health. We are delighted to welcome the 2023/24 cohort of WH Trust Scholars to Keble.

Dmytro Lopushanskyy

MSc Advanced Computer Science

Being a WHT Scholar means becoming part of a vibrant community of incredibly talented individuals from all over the world. This experience has not only enriched my academic knowledge but also profoundly expanded my cultural perspectives and understanding of global leadership. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to study at Oxford, gaining knowledge and skills that I plan to use in Ukraine's post-war rebuilding, particularly in transforming it into a global information technology hub.

Tamilore Oni

Nigeria
MPP

The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust Leadership Programme offers me not just the funding for this year of study at the Blavatnik School of Government, but also a strong support network to ensure the year is a successful one. I am part of a diverse cohort of scholars (now lifelong friends) and currently going through a range of skills development programmes to equip me with the tools and knowledge I need to embark on the next phase of my leadership journey. I am very grateful to the Trust and Keble College!

Max Rath

South Africa
MBA

My growth in just one term as a Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholar has exceeded my expectations. Most surprising has been what I have learnt through interactions with my fellow WHT scholars. Each of them holds a deep conviction that they will soon make significant positive change in the world. The inspiration, hope, and sense of gratitude I derive from these interactions is a highlight of my time at Oxford.

Iggo Kanui

Kenya
MSc Water Science, Policy and Management

Growing up in a remote village in South-Eastern Kenya, I have always been told how education is the great equaliser. However, it was only when I became a Weidenfeld Hoffman Trust Scholar that I finally grasped the full meaning of this. Being a WHT Scholar is not just a privilege; it's a profound commitment to harnessing education, fostering global connections, and embracing leadership with integrity. It's about embracing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, not only in my own life but in the lives of others, driven by the values of social justice, collaboration, and positive change.

Hanbit Lee

South Korea
MSc Energy Systems

Being a WHT scholar means embracing the diverse tapestry of human experiences and ideas, and learning from each other's backgrounds and beliefs and perspective. It's about applying our collective knowledge toward positive, impactful change, both in academia and beyond.
