Professor of European Archaeology
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Professor Amy Bogaard as the new Professor of European Archaeology at the University of Oxford and Fellow at Keble College. Professor Bogaard will take on the prestigious role in the upcoming academic year, succeeding Professor Chris Gosden, who has held the Chair since 2006.
Four New Honorary Fellows
Keble has elected four new distinguished individuals to its Honorary Fellowship: Malik Peiris, Angela Saini, Kate Varah, and Yasumasa Nagamine.
New Director of Music, Christian Wilson
The College is delighted to announce the appointment of accomplished organist, conductor and academic Christian Wilson as Director of Music at Keble from September. The appointment follows the departure of Chris Bucknall, who will be pursuing his career as a harpsichordist and conductor full-time.
Paul Newman Recognised in King’s Birthday Honours
Congratulations to Paul Newman, Keble Professorial Fellow and BP Professor of Information Engineering, who has been appointed a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for services to engineering and technology.

Eric Symes Abbott Lecture | Professor Anthony Reddie
Eric Symes Abbott (1906-1983) was, successively, Dean of King’s College, London, Warden of Keble, and Dean of Westminster. Following his death, his friends established an annual lecture in his memory. This year’s lecturer, Professor Anthony Reddie, is a leading figure in the area of Black Theology in the UK and beyond.
Four Keble Offers | Astrophoria Foundation Year
Keble is one of ten colleges making offers to students in the University’s inaugural Astrophoria Foundation Year programme. Four of the 35 offers made are at Keble, in PPE, Law, English, and History.
Keble Choir Visits Finland
After a fruitful year of regular Chapel services, topped up by exciting events including the Keble Early Music Festival this February, Keble Chapel Choir celebrated the end of the academic year with a whistlestop visit to the charming city of Turku, Finland.
